Abilities & Runes

Runes are NFT items that are used to enhance abilities. Depending on the ability and level of enhancement, this can have game-changing effects.

Ability Enhancing

Equipment items have abilities that equiped Runes can enhance - e.g. increase the ability's strength, range, duration or even potentially alter its behavior. Abilities provide strategy and skill angles to Shatterpoint, allowing players to combine them in a way that best fits their playstyle, master their use and counter opponents.

Offensive abilities

Offensive abilities are provided by weapons, gloves and belts.

Weapons

Weapons will allow players to attack enemies in various innovative ways, ranging from aerial slams to spinning whirlwinds and much more.

Gloves

Gloves will set the Hero's weapons ablaze dealing extra damage, cover them in ice to slow enemies down and many more.

Belts

This equipment slot may allow the Hero to throw a special type of grenade, which can deal damage to enemies, and slow or freeze them. Other types of grenades may heal allies in their area of effect.

Boots

Movement abilities are provided by boots and will help you escape dangerous situations or rush into battle.

Potions

This equipment slot provides healing over time and other utility effects, but unlike other abilities, these are limited to 3 charges per PvE chapter or PvP battle, along with the usual ability cooldown.

Engraving Runes

For a Rune to affect its denoted equipment abilities, it must be engraved using Quantus Dust. All Runes are on-chain (NFT). Rune engraving has a success chance variable. The rarer the rune is, the lesser the engraving success chance of it.

Space for engraving Runes varies and depends on the rarity of the Runes. Runes have 3 rarities:

Rarity
Source
Max Ability Effect
Max Engrave Slots

Rarer runes can affect more abilities, and the effect can be stronger.

Merging Runes

Fully engraved Runes of the same Rarity can be merged to form a new higher-rarity Rune. This process destroys the 2 Completed Runes and makes a new random Rune. The number of slots and ability enhancements is completely random. Unengraved or partially-engraved Runes cannot be merged.
