How to Use Crystals and Crystal Forges
Step 1: Obtain a Crystal Forge
Why You Need One: A Crystal Forge lets you craft Crystals from in-game recipes.
How to Get One: Purchase from Shatterpoint or find one on the Open Loot marketplace.
Rarity Matters: The rarity of your Crystal Forge determines the rarity of Crystals you can craft.
Step 2: Craft and Infuse Crystals
Craft Crystals: Use your forge to create a Crystal.
Infuse with Dust: Before using a Crystal, infuse it with Dust (a premium in-game currency). This activates the Crystal’s ability to earn $POINT tokens.
Step 3: Use Crystals in PvP Matches
Earn $POINT tokens: Win PvP matches with an equipped infused Crystal to earn tokens.
Strategize: Since Crystals have a limited supply, owning one gives you a unique advantage in the game economy.
The Crystal Charging Process
To maximize the value of your Crystals, they must be charged using a Crystal Forge. Charging locks both the Crystal and the Forge for a set duration, during which they cannot be used for crafting, sold on Open Loot, or utilized in matches. The charging process provides a set number of charges, which determine how many PvP rounds the player can play to earn $POINT tokens.
Short Charge (3 hours): Provides 6 charges, allowing you to play 6 PvP rounds.
Medium Charge (6 hours): Provides 15 charges, allowing you to play 15 PvP rounds.
Long Charge (12 hours): Provides 30 charges, allowing you to play 30 PvP rounds.
Charging your Crystal for longer durations offers better value in terms of Quantum Dust cost per charge, making it more efficient to opt for medium or long charges when possible.
Sustainability and Fairness
Limited Supply: The number of Crystals is capped, ensuring the economy remains balanced.
Sustainability: As the active players that use Crystals will vary in time, the infusion cost will also vary to maintain a healthy rate of $POINT token distribution.
